How it all began

Two generations of our family have been trading in office machines since 1926. One ancestor even produced a flexible duplicating machine. However, active collecting did not begin until 1995, when the Kramer family was on holiday in southern Spain and discovered four typewriters with unusual systems: an Oliver, a Corona, a Royal and a Blickensderfer typewriter. From this point on, the Kramer family became passionate collectors. Initially, they travelled to flea markets and collectors’ meetings all over Europe. Ebay or other online services did not exist back then. We gained access to the collectors’ network via the Internationales Forum Historische Bürowelt e.V. association.

In the years that followed, the collection grew from one shelf to three showrooms. Mum, Dad and Junior still go to auctions and collectors’ meetings together today.
